Elizabeth Lauer

Elizabeth Lauer writes: “We moved to Albuquerque in July 2005. Becoming acquainted with musical scene here. Scheduled to be one of three judges for the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra Piano Competition in March 2007. Still engaged as program annotator (and now publicity writer) for South Shore Music, Westport, CT, a summer chamber music series of six concerts.”

Premieres

The composer introduced two pieces from Symbiosix for speaker and harpsichord, “haiku” and “hi-coo-coo,”on an April 21, 2006, National League of American Pen Women music program, in Denver, CO; selections from the same work were informally premiered by the composer at an April 8 Fulbright meeting in Albuquerque, NM. L’Aurore, a French rag, was premiered November 19 by pianist Sandro Russo at Brubeck Auditorium, Wilton (CT) Library, in a program sponsored by Connecticut Composers, Inc.; Russo performed a second French rag, Le Crepuscule, on the same program.

Performances

Le Crepuscule was also heard in a September 12, 2006, performance by pianist Sarah Churchill, at the Hillside Club, Berkeley, CA; in a September 27 concert at Point Reyes, CA; and at other venues throughout the season.
