The 2007 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 99, Number 2 James M. Cohn*** The commissioned work Sonata for Violin and Piano, was introduced by Kees Kooper and Laura Poe on April 22, 2006, at an SAI American Musicale held at St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church, New York City. Julianne Kirk and Adda Kridler presented Sonata for Clarinet and Violin, on July 30, as part of the Summer Camp Music Series at Ball State University, Muncie, IN. Mozart Fantasy (Woodwind Quintet No. 3) was first heard in an October 1 performance by the Quintet of the Americas for the “First Sunday of the Month Concert Series” at the Community Church of Douglaston, NY. Guitarist David Galvez presented Toccata and Fugue for Solo Guitar on October 8, at the Queens Museum in Flushing Meadow Park, Flushing, NY. Performances Three Dances for Clarinet and Guitar were performed by Raphael Sanders and Galvez on February 5, 2006, at the Community Church of Douglaston, NY, and again on March 16, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in NY, NY. Violinist Deborah Volker, cellist Frank McKinster, and pianist Frank Conlon presented Piano Trio No. 2 on July 29 at the Sigma Alpha Iota National Convention in Orlando, FL. Further Information
