The 2006 American Composers Updateas published in PAN PIPES, Volume 98, Number 2 Joseph Wilcox Jenkins** The works and biography of Joseph Willcox Jenkins are presented in a chapter of the newly-released Composers on Composing for Band, volume III, edited by Mark Camphouse, from GIA Publications, Chicago. The composer announces the following new works: For Madeline, op. 208, Suite for Solo Cello (three movements, all in first position), written for the composer’s 12-year-old granddaughter; and an as yet unnamed work, op. 209 (a commission for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point) nears completion. Premieres Organist Ann Lobounsky premiered A Gentle Heritage, op. 207, on June 24, 2006, on the recently restored Civic Hall pipe organ in Methuen, MA.
