Annual American Composers Update
Austin C. Lovelace
A retiree, Austin C. Lovelace lives in Denver, CO. Several
of his hymn tunes and psalm settings are published in
Encounter with Erik Routley (Darcey Press, 1997),
by Adrienne Tindall. In addition to his original published
works, Lawson-Gould Publishers has issued his SATB arrangements
of
Wash Me Thoroughly, by Handel, and
Who Shall
Separate Us, by Schuetz.
Premieres
Led by Marsha Scheusner,
Sing to the Lord, for
SATB choir, was sung first at the First Presbyterian Church
of Columbia, TN, which commissioned the work, Sept. 28,
1997.
Performances
Job of Uz, a cantata for soloists, choir, and orchestra,
will be presented at the University of Denver Lamont School
of Music, Feb. 11, 1998, conducted by Robert Penn.
