for medium to high voice, for publication.
Premieres
On Mar. 5, 1997, Behold Thy Mother,
for two women's voices, was premiered by Melissa Hinz
and Kathleen Otterson. On Mar. 19, 1997, Father,
Into Thy Hands I Commend My Spirit, for tenor and
bass, had its first performance, with Chris Ryan and
Aaron Schauer, accompanied by pianist Sally Jamieson,
at Christ Presbyterian Church, Madison.
Performances
At the National Federation of Music
Clubs Convention in Milwaukee, WI, on May 2, 1997, Rosser's
Meditation was played by Lola Yde, violin, and
May Ella Jerome, piano. On Oct. 3, 1997, at the Unitarian
Meeting House in Madison, Otterson and Nancy Schmalz
performed Six Songs of the T'ang Dynasty ("Lost
in the Tibetan War," "A Spring Sigh," "A Song of the
Palace," "Near the Old Temple," "Turkestan," and "Thinking
of one Far Away"), for voice and flute. Meditations
on the Cross was part of the 1997 Christ Presbyterian
Church Lenten Vespers, with Hinz, soprano; Otterson,
mezzo-soprano; Ryan, tenor; Schauer, bass; and Jamieson,
piano. Jane Horswill, soprano, sang A Lenten Song
Cycle for the P. E. O. Group in Fairfield Glade,
TN, Mar. 30, 1997. On Oct. 27, 1996, Elizabeth Muzzy,
violin, and Doug Manley, organ, presented Meditation
at St. Paul United Methodist Church, in Cincinnati,
OH.
