Brian Fennelly
Brian Fennelly lives in Kingston, NY. In May 1997 the
American Academy of Arts and Letters gave him an Academy
Award in Music honoring lifetime achievement.
Premieres
In 1997 premieres at New York, NY's Merkin Hall included
Monogram, written for the Perspectives of New Music
tribute to Richard Swift, with pianist Eliza Garth (Mar.
25); and
Reflected Arc, with oboist Marcia Butler
accompanied by Garth (Dec. 1).
Performances
The St. Luke's Chamber Ensemble, with saxophonist Ted
Nash, performed
Skyscapes on its Second Helping
Series at the Dia Center for the Arts, New York, NY, on
June 11, 1997. Duopianists Adelaide and Edgar Roberts
played the piano four-hand version of
Empirical Rag
in New York, NY and Kingston, NY during April 1997. In
1997 David Pituch, saxophone, presented
Hypnotic Song
at the Chopin Academy, Warsaw, Poland (May 7); and at
Baldwin-Wallace College along with
Corollary II
(Mar. 5).
