Eugenie R. Rocherolle
In 1997 Eugénie R. Rocherolle was featured
composer at the Music Teachers National Association
Convention's
Neil A.
Kjos Publisher Showcase, in Dallas, TX (Apr. 8),
and was featured clinician at the Columbia (SC) Music
Teachers Association, where she gave an all-Rocherolle
workshop and master class (Aug. 16). She received a
1997-98 ASCAP Standard Award and had a listing in the
International Who's Who in Music.
Premieres
A Schubert Club Parade of American Music
program in New Canaan, CT included Rocherolle presenting
her piano suite, Tres Rumores Hispanicos, Feb.
2, 1997.
Performances
After the premiere, Rocherolle played
Tres Rumores Hispanicos at the Hoff-Barthelson
Music School, Scarsdale, NY, Mar. 4, 1997. "Showcase
Rocherolle!, an all-Rocherolle program featuring works
for flute and piano; viola and piano; piano trio; flute,
violin, and cello; soprano; solo piano; piano four-hand;
and two pianos, was given at a Northwest Florida Teachers
Association meeting, at Gulf Coast Community College,
Panama City, FL, Oct. 6, 1996. Rapsodie des Pyrenees,
for two pianos, was heard with Carole Clarkson and Varina
Steuert at the Darien (CT) Community Association, Nov.
10, 1996; and with Ingrid Clarfield and Lillian Livingston
at the Brookdale Perfoming Arts Center, Lincroft, NJ,
Mar. 16, 1997.
