Faye-Ellen Silverman
Faye-Ellen Silverman, a resident of
New York, NY. served as Composer-in-Residence at the
second International Women's Brass Conference, in St.
Louis, MO. She has received an ASCAP Standard Award.
Premieres
On Feb. 8 and 16, 1997, Juliana Janes-Yaffé
and Sue Ann Kahn presented Love Songs, for soprano
and flute, in New York, NY, as part of the Music Under
Construction series. At the International Women's Brass
Conference, Velvet Brown conducted the Monarch Brass
in the first performance of At the Colour Cafe,
for brass choir, June 29, 1997.
Performances
NewMusicMannes gave the New York premiere
of 3 Guitars, for guitar trio, Jan. 21, 1997.
Theresa Giroux played Speaking Alone, for solo
flute, in Oneonta, NY, Apr. 14, 1997. In 1997 Eugene
Pokorny toured with Silverman's solo tuba work ZigZags,
at the International Women's Brass Conference (June
29); in Cookeville, TN (Sept. 6); in Bloomington, IN
(Sept. 16); and in Tampere, Finland (Nov. 29).
