Leslie Bassett
Leslie Bassett lives in Ann Arbor, MI, where he is the
Albert A. Stanley Distinguished University Professor Emeritus
of Music at the University of Michigan. On November 4-6,
1996, he was guest composer for the Rocky Mountain Contemporary
Music Festival, where he heard 13 of his works performed.
Premieres
Lan Shuie conducted the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in
the first performances of
Thoughts that Sing, Breathe
and Burn, February 27-28 and March 1, 1997.

On June 9, 1997, the Moravian Filharmonic Orchestra, under
Vit Mitka, played

in Olomouc, The Czech Republic. The U. S. Information
Agency's Artistic Ambassadors Programs, May-June 1997,
