Sydney Hodkinson

Sydney Hodkinson is Professor of Composition at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY, where he chairs the Conducting/Ensembles Department.

Premieres

Tilt, commissioned by the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra to celebrate its 75th anniversary, premiered Jan. 15 and 17, 1998 with the orchestra, under Robert Bernhard.

Performances

The Cassatt Quartet played String Quartet No. 3, Jan. 21, 1997, at Merkin Hall, New York, NY. Heard in 1997 at Kilbourn Hall, in Rochester, NY, were Minor Incidents, with Thomas Schumacher, piano (Mar. 18); and Limb, with Kristen Tait, marimba (May 2).
