Faye-Ellen Silverman
Faye-Ellen Silverman, a resident of
New York, NY, has received an ASCAP Standard award and
a Meet the Composer grant.
Premieres
On Nov. 17, 1997, Jennifer Williams,
Dorothy Lawson, and Karen Lindquist introduced Azure
Skies, for violin, cello, and harp, in New York,
NY. 1998 New York City premieres included Troubled
Repose, for flute, viola, and bass viol, with Nieuwe
Oogst (Apr. 18); and the third scene of the cantata
A Free Pen, for bass and harp, with Maurice Edwards
and Margery Fitts (May 30).
Performances
The New York City premiere of Adhesions
occurred May 7, 1998, with the Mannes College Orchestra,
Michael Charry, conductor. In 1998, Angela Casagrande
played Layered Lament, for English horn and tape,
six times at the Ottawa (Canada) Fringe Festival (June
20-28); and again in a concert by Espace Musique at
Ottawa's Arts Court Theater (Sept. 26). In 1998, Nieuwe
Oogst toured Belgium with Troubled Repose, including
performances in Ghent (Sept. 12), St.-Lieuvens-Esse
(Sept. 18), and Antwerp (Sept. 24).
