Premieres

1998-99 premieres on the "Music on the Hill" concert series at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Berkeley, in Kensington, are Variations on Ton-y-botel, played by Sandra Soderlund, pipe organ, Oct. 4, 1998; and Trading Off, for violin, cello, and MIDI, Mar. 7, 1999.

Performances

At the SCI National Conference, held in Bloomington, IN, Apr. 18, 1998, the Indiana University Singers performed Rants II, for SATB choir and violin. Tenor Daniel Akerman and the San Francisco State University Twentieth Century Ensemble presented Nightland, May 4, 1998. In 1998, Magen Solomon led the San Francisco Choral Artists in A Critical Success, for SATB choir and violin, in San Francisco (May 3), Berkeley (May 8), and Palo Alto (May 9). A Composers' Inc. concert in San Francisco included Blurts, for flute, clarinet, and piano, with Lenora Warkentin, Richard Mathias, and the composer, Oct. 20, 1998. The San Francisco Girls Chorus, directed by Sharon Paul, violist Gerladine Walther, and pianist Dwight Okamura gave a performance of Dreams, for SSAA choir, viola and piano, Oct. 30, 1998.
