Annual American Composers Update
James R. Hanna
SAI National Arts Associate James R. Hanna is retired
in Lafayette, LA. He has completed two original works
for concert band and five arrangements for concert band
of music from the 1890's.
Premieres
On Mar. 8, 1998, the four-movement
Suite for Saxophone
and Piano premiered in Lafayette with William Hochkeppel,
alto saxophone, and Susanna Garcia, piano. The Lafayette
Concert Band, under the direction of Gerald Guilbeaux,
presented
March, June 5, 1998.
