Annual American Composers Update

Katherine Danforth Fisher

SAI Patroness Katherine Danforth Fisher has been compiling recordings of her major works from 1948 until the present, to be transferred to one or two CD's. The project is scheduled to be completed by Sept. 1999.

Performances

In 1998, works performed at the Third Presbyterian Church of Rochester, NY included New Things Do I Declare (verses from Isaiah), with tenor John Denison and organist Peter DuBois (Jan. 4); How Great is His Name (verses from the Bible), with soprano Betsy Marvin and pianist DuBois (Aug. 23); and No Coward Soul (poem from Emily Bronte's Last Lines), for SATB choir and organ, with the church choir and DuBois (Nov. 1).
