Meyer Kupferman
Meyer Kupferman lives and composes mostly in Rhinebeck,
NY. He is conducting the Orchestra Philharmonic de Monte
Carlo (Monaco) for a recording of
Winter Symphony
and
Concerto Brevis.
Premieres
In May 1998, David Starobin, the Manhattan School Guitar
Quartet, and the Manhattan School of Music Orchestra,
Glen Cortese, conductor, premiered
Concerto for Four
Guitars and Orchestra. Laurel Ann Maurer soloed with
the National Flute Asociation Orchestra, under Tim Russel,
in the first performance of
Concerto Brevis, Aug.
1998. In Apr. 1998 in Salt Lake City, the Utah Chamber
Society Trio presented
O North Star, for flute,
clarinet, and piano.
Superclarinet Who?, a monodrama
in five acts, was produced first at the Theatre Works
New Theatre in New Milford, CT, featuring Dawn Whaley,
Sept. 19, 1997. Conducted by Mendaugas Piecaitaus, the
Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra introduced
Symphonic
Odyssey for Orchestra, Quasar Symphony, Aug. 4, 1997
in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Performances
The Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra, under Piecaitaus,
also played
Sound Phantoms No. 8. The Cygnus Ensemble
presented
New Space, for violin, oboe, and guitar,
May 1998 in Stockton, NJ. At an Athens, Greece performance,
