Annual American Composers Update
Ruth Brush
Residing in Bartlesville, OK, Ruth Brush gives workshops
for music teachers, and she coaches and presents programs
of talented youth. Recent requests for her music have
come from the Sydney (Australia) Conservatory of Music
and Salto Verlag (Germany). Currently, a tape recording
of her piano, violin, and cello music is being prepared
to send to the University of Maryland for radio use. The
Oklahoma Heritage Association gave
Songs of Oklahoma
its First Place Award.
Premieres
On June 18, 1998, the International Mozart Festival in
Bartlesville, included the premieres of
Contemplation,
with cellist Spencer Prentiss, accompanied by Brush at
the piano;
Silhouette, with Domer Dougherty, accompanied
by Brush; and
Idyll D'Amour, with Prentiss, Dougherty,
and Brush.
