Robert Jager
Robert Jager holds the position of Professor of Music
and Director of Academic Studies in Music at Tennessee
Tech University (Cookeville), where he was the first arts
faculty member to win the university's Caplenor Research
Award, for his "contributions to the American body of
contemporary classical music."
Premieres
On Dec. 17, 1998, the Rockford (IL) Community Chorus,
conducted by Dean Durst, presented
A Shepherd's Christmas.
The Tri-Lakes Festival Band, conducted by the composer,
premiered
Joan of Arc in Manchester, TN, Jan. 30,
1999. On Feb. 12, 1999, Catherine and Hermann Godes will
introduce
Dialogues for Two Pianos at Tennessee
Tech University.
Performances
Narrator Nan Gurley and the Nashville (TN) Symphony Orchestra,
under Karen Diehl, performed
The Pied Piper of Hamelin,
Oct. 31, 1998. The U.S. Air Force Band, Col. Lowell Graham
conducting, included
Courage to Serve on its 1998
fall tour. In 1999,
I Dream of Peace will be heard
in Cookeville, with the Cumberland Children's Choir and
the Bryan Symphony Orchestra, led by John Dodson (Feb.
7); and at the American Choral Director's Association
National Convention, in Chicago, with the Michigan Children's
Choir and the Michigan State University Orchestra, Mary
Alice Stollak and Leon Gregorian, conductors (Feb. 25).
